Default Broncos, Bills, Browns Show Interest in McNabb

Quote:
ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that the Broncos, Bills, and Browns have shown interest in the availability of Donovan McNabb.

While Cleveland and Buffalo has obvious holes at QB, this tells us a little about Denver's faith, or lack of it, in Kyle Orton as a long-term solution. The Eagles have indicated that McNabb is unlikely to be traded. Should they be offered a first-round pick however, we strongly believe that would change.

I'm really surprised to see the Broncos' name on there...mainly because Orton showed at the beginning of last sesaon that he can be a very good starting QB. I guess they want a veteran QB to lead McDaniels' system...

The Browns need a QB and McNabb could help their young receivers grow some, and in Buffalo they need someone that can get the ball to the WR's, enough said.

Thoughts?

No, he didn't. He showed he can be a starting QB for a limited amount of time. He isn't terrible, but I don't think his game is good enough to be an all-time starter in this league.

I could see Cleveland getting McNabb. Holmgren seems like a sly son of a *****.

Holmgren would be the type of guy to overpay for a McNabb type of player too as he's always in a win-now mentality and he knows he's not getting any younger. Would be interesting to see what the Browns would be willing to part with.

A 2nd and a 5th, probably. If McNabb is any more expensive than that, he would probably say no thanks, and he rightfully should. The Browns are going to be bad with or without McNabb, so doubt he'll pony up too much.

They wouldn't be that bad with McNabb, they'd see significant improvements. It all depends on there drafting and such.

Like I said, Holmgren is VERY aggresive and he knows himself that he's not getting older. I could see him going after McNabb hard and overpaying. How often do you get a chance to get a top 7-8 quarterback in this league that's not 35+ like a Warner/Favre for a year or two rental? McNabb will be this good for atleast 2-3 more seasons and then he'll still be a top 15 quarterback for 5 seasons.

I disagree. I don't think McNabb would make them much better than the 5 wins they got this year. Maybe a win better.

How do you figure? Every since Jerome Harrison started they were 4-0, and then you have to figure they obviously get better through the draft, Mangini another year of coaching expierence with the team.

I could see them getting 6-8 wins tbh. Probably 7-9 would be my prediction.

I could see that too, but I don't think adding McNabb would give them wins. I could see the team being 6-10 or even 7-9, without McNabb.

Agreed. McNabb is a good QB, but he won't make a huge impact with no one around him on that Browns team. That defense is not good enough to be a team with a winning record.

I dont see Holmgren giving up his 2nd for McNabb quite yet. He might look on doing a couple different angles at this. I dont see McNabb leaving Philly unless they are blown away though.

What has Mike Holmgren done in the past for you to think that? I don't get it.

Kyle Orton just isn't a good QB. All people need to just realize that so we can move on as a football society.

If we gave up a first round pick for McNabb I would die. What would be the point? We aren't in contention for anything.

I really don't like Kyle Orton, he's decent but he's not a very good starting QB. McNabb will really help the Broncos out.

I would hate it if the Broncos traded a first round pick for McNabb. I'd rather watch 2 more seasons of Kyle Orton's mediocre quarterbacking than see that trade go down.

I figured the Eagles would roll with what they've got for one more season, say 'goodbye' to McNabb after 2010 and then put the ball in Kolb's hands. For some reason, I am now beginning to think that the Eagles may buy into all the interest from other teams and get some serious value from McNabb this offseason. This will of course depend on what's being offered but I could definitely see a scenario where the Eagles part ways with McNabb for a higher 2nd round pick. I dunno...trading Vick to the Rams or Bills for a conditional pick seems the likelier scenario but nothing would surprise me. Philadelphia has never really appreciated what they've had all these years in McNabb.
