Welcome all to the first entry in what hopefully will be a running blog which will spread the accolades of Women's Basketball to this board and hopefully will help some posters view the women's game in a new light. This will be a daily entry. Let's begin on the NCAAW side of things.
Women's Top 25-Feb. 8th: AP Top 25 1. Connecticut (40) 23-0 1000 2. Stanford 21-1 959 3. Nebraska 21-0 896 4. Notre Dame 21-1 894 5. Tennessee 20-2 850 6. Xavier 18-3 775 7. Ohio State 23-3 740 8. Duke 18-4 709 9. West Virginia 21-3 627 10. Florida State 20-4 593 11. Baylor 17-5 537 12. Oklahoma 16-6 511 13. Texas A&M 16-5 510 14. Texas 16-6 475 15. Oklahoma State 18-5 436 16. Georgetown 19-3 402 17. Kentucky 20-3 372 18. North Carolina 16-5 358 19. Georgia 19-5 323 20. Iowa State 18-4 210 21. Georgia Tech 19-5 205 22. Gonzaga 19-4 118 23. LSU 15-7 93 24. TCU 17-5 70 25. St. John's 19-4 68 OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES Vanderbilt 64, Hartford 60, Virginia 56, Wisconsin-Green Bay 29, Mississippi 12, Michigan State 11, Miami (FL) 10, South Carolina 6, Princeton 5, Penn State 4, Dayton 3, Middle Tennessee 3, East Carolina 2, Marist 2, Fresno State 1, Syracuse 1, Reactions-The Top 5 are truly elite. UConn is in a class of its own, but Stanford, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Tennessee will challenge them come tournament time. Can't wait to see who comes out as the National Champ at the end of it! How about them Huskies? 62 consecutive wins and counting, 9 away from the all-time NCAA Women's Record! There is not a more dominating team anywhere, in any sport, in the nation. The Lady Huskies win by an average of 39 points/game, that's simply astounding! They even beat #4 Notre Dame 70-46. They also beat Texas 81-53 in Austin, and #15 North Carolina 88-47! Last night, on Super Sunday, they went on the road into Louisville, the defending National Runner-Up, and won 84-38! They have a tough stretch coming up, but this team seems invincible. A Challenger for UConn? Don't look now, but the Nebraska Lady Huskers(20-0, #3 AP), look incredible as well. A shock to the system in the Women's Basketball World, the Lady Huskers, 15-16 and a Round 1 NIT Knock-Out a year ago, the Lady Huskers have exploded on the scene, scoring upsets of 6 ranked teams, including Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor. Not only are the Lady Huskers winning, but they are winning in very impressive fashion. If anyone can challenge UConn, it might be the Huskers, not the Lady Vols. North Carolina-Duke is still a big deal, even on the Women's Side. Cameron Indoor Stadium is full of Cameron Crazies today. About 70% capacity it appears to be. North Carolina is in town, and the hate is still there. The Lady Heels come in in their hated powdered blues, and the Cameron Crazies are ready to shoo them away. The Lady Devils jumped out to a 6-0 lead and ran the table from there. It's halftime in Durham now, and the Lady Devils lead 45-35, but don't count out the resilient Lady Heels, who have trailed after halftime more than once this season. ESPN Rivalry Week-Women's Top 25 Games Today: #24 Virginia at Maryland Prediction: Maryland 78, Virginia 76 #5 Tennessee at #22 Vanderbilt-9 EST, ESPN2 Prediction: The Lady Vols are rolling and looking for another National Championship, their third in four years. They have a tough Vanderbilt team tonight. Prediction: Pat Summit's Vols get trapped, 88-79. WNBA News: The Lynx have signed Simeone Augustus to a contract extension. That's it for today, folks! Tune in tomorrow! I hope you will find this running blog informative and fun! It will only get better!

Nice read, I enjoyed it. The main reason I don't watch womens basketball inparticular is because of the lack of upsets. A top team rarely ever gets upset, just look at UConn. They never lose. Ever.

You are right, there is a lack of parity in the Women's Game, but that isn't the case at the WNBA Level. Because there are only 12 teams, and 8 make the playoffs, no one's eliminated until game 28 or 29(there are 34 games)

The problem with the WNBA is that there are obviously a lack of games that they show on TV. If they showed them more often i'm bound to watch some since I love sports and i'll watch any of it almost.

Sometime next season or in the National Title game vs. either Nebraska, Tennessee, or Stanford.

UConn, Nebraska trapped?
Both are being tested early. #1 UConn leads DePaul 31-20 in the 1st period, being tested early. More from this later. #4 Nebraska leads Kansas 19-14 late 1st half. We'll give you more from this as the night goes on.

Halftime:
#1 Uconn has pulled away from unranked DePaul. It is 52-32 UConn at halftime. Chalk up 63 straight W's, 8 from the record. Tiffany Hayes has 16 points, 6/8 from the floor. Kansas continues to test its Big 12 Rival, unbeaten Nebraska(21-0). Kansas has opened the second half on a 4-0 run. More on this later.
